1960 in Aachen geboren erhielt ich in den Jahren von 1975 bis 1979 Klavier- und Theorieunterricht bei Frau W. Eschenbach in Aachen. Nach der Fachoberschulreife für E-Technik begann ich mein Musikstudium an der „Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik Rheinland" in Köln. 1985/86 schloss ich meine beiden Hauptfächer Klavier bei Professor Pavel Gililov und Komposition bei Professor Joachim Blume mit der „Künstlerischen Reifeprüfung" ab. Pavel Gililov nahm im Februar 1985 meinen Klavierzyklus „Miniaturen in Kristallform" in seine Schallplattenaufnahme mit Werken von Schumann, Debussy und Skryabin auf (Eintrag im Bielefelder Katalog sowie im Katalog der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek und seit 2003 auch als CD erhältlich). Ab Sommer 1985 setzte ich mein Klavierstudium bei Professor Danièle Dechènne am „Sweelinck Conservatorium" in Amsterdam fort.

In dieser Zeit komponierte ich u.a. eine Solosonate für Violine, eine dreisätzige Klaviersonate und den achtteiligen Zyklus „Recitationi per una voce" für Solo Sopran. Die erste Vokalise aus diesem Zyklus, 'Media vita in morte sumus', wurde bereits im Dezember 1984 von der Amerikanischen Sängerin Elizabeth Parcells uraufgeführt und von der Fachwelt sowie der Presse einhellig mit Begeisterung aufgenommen. Während eines Meisterkurses für Komposition bei Professor Teresa Procaccini aus Rom entstand im März 1989 das Quartett „Sizilianisches Lied" nach dem gleichnamigen Gedicht Goethes. Im Februar 1990 folgte ich einer Einladung zu einem zehntägigen Aufenthalt in Schloß Elmau. In meinem Vortrag verband ich auf lebendige Art und Weise die Musik und das Wesen Mozarts und seiner Epoche mit dem eigenen kompositorischen Schaffen. In den „12 Klangintermundien" (1995) für Klavier und in dem dreiteiligen Streichquartett „Dädalus Freiheit" (1996) hat sich eine bedeutende Stilwende in meinem kompositorischen Schaffen vollzogen. In den Jahren 2001 bis 2009 vollendete ich die 10 Klavierstücke „Schritte ins Freie". Dieses Opus beinhaltet auch ein „Präludium & Fuge" im zeitgenössischen Stil. Der vorläufige Höhepunkt meines 1995 beginnenden Stilwandels ist in dem Triptychon 'Traum und Wirklichkeit' (2006) für Sopran und Klavier (Sie hören hier den dritten Teil des Werkes, 'Verheißung') erkennbar. Dieses Werk schrieb ich anlässlich eines Benefizkonzertes, bei dem es uraufgeführt wurde.

1960 born in Aachen, a German city bordering The Netherlands and Belgium. I got piano lessons from Mrs. W. Eschenbach. Subsequent to an examination at a technical college in Aachen she prepared me during 1975 and 1979 to pass the entrance examination for piano at the college of music in Cologne. As my principal subjects I studied piano with professor Pavel Gililov and composition with professor Joachim Blume. In 1985 Pavel Gililov included my piano cycle "Miniaturen in Kristallform" in his recording of works of Schumann, Debussy and Skryabin (Registerd in the 'Bielefelder Katalog' of classical music and also in the 'German National Library'). In 1985/1986 I got my end diplomas for piano and composition and continued my piano studies at the 'Sweelinck Conservatorium' in Amsterdam with professor Danièle Dechènne. Among others I composed at that time a solo sonata for violin, a piano sonata with three movements and a cyle of eight pieces "Recitationi per una voce" for soprano solo. The debut performance of the 1st piece of this cycle, 'Media vita in morte sumus' already happened in 1984 by the American singer Elizabeth Parcells and was unanimously appreciated by experts and press. During a master course of professor Teresa Procaccini from Rome/Italy I wrote the quartet "Sizilianisches Lied" based on the Goethe poem of the same name. In February of the year 1990 I received an invitation for a 10 days stay at castle Elmau. My musical performance combined Mozart's life and music vividly with my own compositions. Since 1995 an important change in style has been taken place which resulted in my works "12 Klangintermundien" for piano (60 minutes) as well as in the string quartet "Dädalos Freiheit" (25 minutes). This development continued. Between 2001 and 2009 I completed my 10 piano pieces "Steps into the Open". This work includes a prelude & fugue in contemporary style. For the time being the peak of my work is the triptychon 'Traum und Wirklichkeit' for soprano and piano (you may listen to part three 'Verheißung' ), composed for and inspired by a charity concert, I gave in 2006.

With my family I am living in the Netherlands as a freelance musician, teaching piano, music theory and composition in Germany.
